Crane Operator Classes Oakville - Crane operator training is for operators and supervisors of overhead lifting machine. The course is suitable for both new and current operators. Course content deals with applicable federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The first part of training involves comprehensive in-class lessons and test. Following that is a hands-on customized session together with practical lessons and evaluation.

Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting machinery. Specific instruction will concentrate on aspects of crane operation used at the trainee's workplace. Upon finishing the course, trainees will learn how to operate specific overhead lifting devices, related parts and attachments safely and efficiently.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits that an operator can develop while operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment could be prevented with correct habits. Training reduces the likelihood of a workplace injury or incident taking place.

The course would encompass about eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of customized, on-site, hands-on training. Participants would be graded on their understanding of training material via an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is 80 percent.

The in-class session, the trainee will be taught about causes of occurrences and damages, legislation and guidelines, internal responsibility, danger awareness, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, pre-shift equipment inspections, safe hoisting/operating methods, kinds of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, pedestrian/operator safety, angles and hitches, turning/flipping loads safely, hand signals for slingers and operators.

The customized practical training and evaluation session must be pre-scheduled. It will be held at the trainees' facility after completion of the in-class session. The duration of this practical training part is one to two hours. Two operators at a time would be trained by the instructor about skills like safe operation, planning the lift and right rigging practices.

After finishing both the practical training and evaluation and the in-class instruction, the trainee would be tested via an exam. Every participant would be required to sign the safety rules. Trainees who are successful will be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate would be provided to the company.
